Bachelor’s or higher degree in Optics, Physics, Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with 5-8 years of experience
Hands-on experience in manufacturing process optimization and troubleshooting
Experienced in assembly of optical systems, including handling and cleaning of optics, interpreting technical documentation
Proficiency in set up, use and alignment of optical components and related test equipment
Familiar with laser safety and beam shaping
Knowledge of image analysis applications such as OpenCV, ImageJ, etc
Demonstrated ability to apply statistical techniques (DOE, Regression, SPC) for process monitoring and improvement
Solid analytical and technical problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Direct experiences in yield, integration, device, or manufacturing engineering organizations comprising novel materials systems
Qualifications
This role covers the waveguide making process including Exposure, Test and Assembly and involves many optical tasks
Develop a deep understanding of waveguide exposure, test and assembly processes to assess relationships
Drive integration of manufacturing processes and process improvements in volume manufacturing of high-performance waveguides
Develop and optimize continuous production and manufacturing processes to achieve the output, quality, and cost goals of the organization
Collect production data and apply standard scientific and statistical methods to analyze, document, and optimize process flows
Devise process control plans, troubleshoot process issues and identify process bottlenecks and solutions to resolve through data analysis, SPC reviews and failure mode analyses
